@jrobinso , if you don't mind, could you comment on if this is possible given what's exposed by the igv.js API?

@brentp Not possible currently, and it could be difficult or impossible to implement if you mean search the entire bam file for a read. However it should be possible to implement this restricting it to the reads currently in view (or slightly out of view), IGV desktop has this feature.

If the "find read in view" option is what's requested open an issue in igv.js and reference this one, that should not be difficult.
