Reported infection and related quarantine cannot be reset manually and does not reset automatically #225

Description

Once an infection has been submitted via the app and the 2-day grace period to revoke the report is over it is impossible to manually report being healthy again. Plus, contrary to what the Stopp Corona support team is saying the quarantine status also does not end automatically after a given period of time.

The significant potential impact of this issue is that if a cured user goes outside again then any of his relevant contacts will probably receive a report that they were in touch with an infected person (even though that's not the case). At the moment the only obvious solution is to delete and re-install the app.

Reproduction steps

  1. Report an infection
  2. Wait for more than two days (so it's no longer possible to revoke the infection report)
  3. There are no options to reset the infection status manually in the app. It also doesn't reset automatically, at least not in my case with 16 days having been passed since the infection report.

Additional helpful information:

When reporting the issue to the Stopp Corona support team I received the following reply (in German) which wasn't particularly helpful to be honest:

Sehr geehrter Herr Derndorfer,

  • Version 2.0.5.1081-QA_250 (on Pixel 3a running Android 11 with the October 5, 2020 security updates)

What did you expect

  • At the very least a manual option to reset the infection status.
  • Ideally a manual option is combined with a default reset after a certain period of time.
