Sqlite is 35% faster then the filesystem which makes it's performance quite good for things like cache, job queues and more. Ruby on Rails has embraced SQLite to replace Redis from the stack and reduce the stack complexity as announced in the latest V8 blog post.

It would be good to add support for SQLite.
