and yes I believe there is another public API for this (getting agent capabilities) but that would require another server call. we are also trying to show/not show react components that initiate monitoring based on the agent capabilites |

amazon-connect-streams does not support the initiation of silent monitoring, instead it was suggested to use the public API to accomplish this #719 (comment).
Before calling that public API it would be nice to validate on the streams side (client) if that public API should even be called, i.e. getting the agents capabilities BEFORE there is any contact
