I updated to the latest GitHub version, but just to see that both V1 and V3 freeze at the login step.

But using the same proxy setting, aka socks5h://127.0.0.1:18890, V1 works now:

socks5h is an unrecognized protocol. Use normal socks5 maybe

The socks5h method must be used to ensure DNS remote resolution through the socks5 server. And this feature is supported by urllib3. For more details, see the following:

I don't think so, because V1 works smoothly with the exactly same proxy protocol as V3 in this case.
