Screen glitches/artifacts after opening Preferences

After opening and closing Preferences a black area remains on the desktop (marked with a red arrow in the screenshot). It disappears only after expanding the Locations tab and collapsing it again. See the screenshots for details.

The problem also occurred in earlier versions - certainly in version 2.10.15 and most likely also in version 2.9.9
