Racing wheel compatibility

Hi, I was recently looking at racing wheels and wondered if they'd be compatible with Whisky Steam games, notably Assetto Corsa. It seems like you might be able to connect it through the Game Controllers menu in the Control Panel, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with using a wheel with Whisky before I go buying one. I've seen in a couple places that the force feedback sometimes has issues but never seen Whisky referenced. Does anyone know if it's at all compatible and if so whether or not there are limitations?

If it helps, I'm leaning specifically towards the Thrustmaster t248p.
