I think commits and binaries should be signed to be able to verify the author and authenticity.

          reopening it to keep track of code-signing here.

Edit: Above issue can probably be closed as it seems that GlobalSign through SignPath Foundation is used.

However, the signed commits issue stays as only some commits are now signed:
