It says it should only be able to push a plane to mach 2.4 (800ms), I'm getting to close to mach 3.9 (1180ms)

Maybe the change from 1/3 to 4/5 the thrust of the KAE version was a bit to much.

The description does not say it should only push to Mach 2.4, but the peak of its velocity curve is there. It's usable top speed is near Mach 4 to make it competitive with the Whiplash engine (and it's an LF engine so it should still be very good), however its Isp is lower (3000 vs 4000) along with the high thrust to fit in with the theme of fuel-guzzling.

Ok. The Whiplash engine is unlocked with Hypersonic Flight, The KLF-150S is unlocked with Aerodynamics. If its a lesser version of the whiplash shouldnt it get unlocked with Supersonic Flight or High Altitude Flight.

I'm playing in carrier mode and its kinda scary to see a fairly low tech airplane get re-entry effects

Ahhh. I will have it moved up in the tech tree then. It must be an oversight as I compared most but not all of the Karbonite engines against stock in the tech trees.
