Stock surface scanner is not showing details of asteroids.

Tested this with stock KSP vs KSP with Karbonite. See pictures below.
Stock
ksp stock 1_22
Karbonite only.
ksp 1_22 karbonite

I even went as far as to recreate the craft from scratch to no avail.

Here is another shot with me mining on a roid with only Karbonite installed, you can see the not stock resources coming in but nothing on the scanner.
