Total estimation window MODEL vs TOTAL

I thought I knew what the difference between the Total Filament (length and weight) and Model Filament estimates, but now I'm confused. As you would expect, rafts and supports are NOT part of the MODEL. However, Brims, skirts, and any code in the START_PRINT g-code area (like a custom nozzle purge or something) is INCLUDED in the Model (and Total, as I would expect). This seems completely wrong and a bug??? I do not consider brims, skirts or custom g-code part of the MODEL any more than rafts and supports. Can someone comment on this, please?

Examples captured below (first a LARGE skirt just to make sure it is more than 0.01g delta, then skirt and custom g-code, which is worth about 0.08g, then rafts and supports that functions correctly as I would expect on TOTAL vs MODEL).
