With more model designers providing painted models, and using an ERCF with a ton of filament gates, I am finding it a challenge to change out filaments/colors already painted in and want to try to have to avoid physically loading/unloading my standard spool colors as much as possible. The fill tool helps to do some of the bulk changes, but there are so many polys surrounding a fill area that don't get included in the fill and have to be cleaned up manually and slowly if we want to change it in the app.
What I would love to see is a color/filament replacement tool like the color change tool in Photoshop. It could work just like the circle tool, but allow you to select an original and target color. Then you could draw all over the area of model you want to change and only the source colors get changed.
Alternately, just an option for a model to select a source and target color and replace all would be a solution as well.
I am new to multi color and painting, so if there is a better way to do this already, that would be great. From what I can tell though, this could be a really handy function that could potentially piggyback on existing functionality.
