JustBoom AMP Hat is not working on KODI

Hi Saiyato,

firstly thank you for getting this great thing working along with volume. number 1 addon for me.

Now the little toothache, I tried to 1st to install only Kodi from libreelec and I could use my Just boom Ampat with it.

But when I installed volumio and then added the plugin, I was unable to get my AMPHat option under the audio section in Kodi.

I did read the previous issue and tried those steps but, have not been able to make it work. the audio keeps going to the TV.

can you help in fixing it?

Hi mate,

I'm about to fix some other issues with this plugin, so the fix is important to me. :)

Did you enable the DAC option in the plugin section and restart Kodi? After that you should be able to select the soundcard in Kodi.

hey good evening,

well yes, I did do start sound off first and then did DAC on in Kodi setting for the addon. but when I clicked save and went back, to plugins and back to the setting of Kodi - I found it was again off ( DAC) meaning even after clicking save it was not saving.

after which I did do restart but could not see the card in KODI, Also do not know how to activate ssh with the addon.

That's it! There's still an error in the Kodi version in the store. You can just download the zip file from this repo and copy it's content over /data/miscellanea/kodi; just overwrite all files.

After that you'll be able to save the settings again, there's a typo in the UIConfig.json file

Cool happy to know there is a simple solution, but could you give the commands so I will do it, since I have a windows PC, can I do winscp to do it?

Aye, just download the zip in the repo, unzip it and copy the files over using WinSCP :)

when I try to paste into the SCP window on the right side, it pops up an error window for not sufficient rights.
I had used volumio / volumio as a login for WinSCP.

have downloaded the repo from here and extracted and renamed as Kodi.

ok, I was searching online and found your input on some volumio page and for the same issue ie save button was not functioning. so i did ssh and ran this command - sudo mv /data/plugins/miscellanea/kodi/UIconfig.json /data/plugins/miscellanea/kodi/UIConfig.json.

After doing this I was able to get a response when I saved a change and I could see the pop-ups.
But still not able to see my JustBoom AmpHat in the list of audio output devices. I only see ALSA: Default (bcm2835 ALSA bcm2835 Alsa).

while reading the previous post on hifiberry amp issue, have kept the startup sound as disabled.

will re try tomorrow its very very late in india right now.. will wait for your reply.

It’s done 👏🤘, thank you for the support and build..... hmmm could we have a unified volume just inquiring. I am ok with using volumio as master volume.

Now I need to get a remote working. I don’t have a JustBoom ir remote. so open to suggestions 😊🤗

I can try to sync the volume from Kodi, as the volume in Volumio controls the hardware.
I'm not sure how much work it'll be, I'll have to rewrite some other stuff first.
