Possible to move hamburger to navbar slider?

I'm slightly annoyed by the amount of screen space taken up by the hamburger and addons icons.

Is it possible to move them into the sliding navbar somehow?
And additionaly, is it possible to "pin" some of those icons inside the sliding navbar so that they are always visible?
Effectively, I want to replace these two unnecessary icons with some others that I use more often.
