Failing to open db in debug mode

The db fails to open in debug mode, complaining that the number of values in the runtime metadata, according to the conf file, and to the sanity check, do not agree (more according to the sanity check).

The runtime metadata structure does not have the same number of fields depending on whether it's in debug mode or not, so it will indeed have a different size and so return a different number for the sanity check.
