Upgrading from 19.4.x to 20: recurring banktransfer

I am currently using (testing actually) recurring bank transfers. In my test setup this seems to go nicely, I am promptly getting new orders sent. My shop is going to depend on this.
I don't really get why recurring is something related to a payment type. But if this approach is ok, I think it would be benefitting to more users.
