I have been successful in altering the boot image using your software, but I am unable to find any info on the hzk font format, and have no idea how to approach the voice data? Any suggestions?

As I wrote in the README.md, for extracting the audio files, you may use the md1702-rec script, but once they are extracted, they are in RAW FEC 3600 bps DMR (AMBE codec) format, which must be decoded (I am not aware of any playback tool for it). Since the format is patent-encumbered, I did not want to risk implementing the decoder here, so a slightly patched DSD, which allows to read from extracted files is in a separate repository
Concerning the font HZK format, this is named because I found similar fonts in HZK-OSD repository, it is 16 pixels high bitmap font, RGB555 according to them. But I did not analyze it further. The repo contains some basic C code working with the font.
