jetson-nano-devkit fails to flash with dunfell-l4t-r32.5.0

[FSX]

We upgrade from dunfell-l4t-r32.4.3 to dunfell-l4t-r32.5.0. Now flashing the jetson-nano-devkit hangs. I tried two different development kits and different SD-cards.

I'm unsure if this is a mistake on my side or a bug. So I though this is the right place to start a discussion.

NVIDIA changed the bootloader partition layout between R32.4.3 and R32.5.0 for the Nano devkit, so you must re-flash the on-module SPI flash to update. With R32.5 and later, your SDcard will just have the APP partition on it, and all of the boot partitions will be in the SPI flash.

I'm not sure what your flash_jetson script is doing, but I'm not seeing the SPI flash getting reprogrammed in the log you attached.

Are you using a custom flash layout XML file? The layout file for the SDcard-based Nano (flash_l4t_t210_max-spi_sd_p3448.xml in the L4T BSP) has a spi device and an sdcard device in it, but it looks like the layout you're using is for a different type of Jetson (one with an onboard eMMC).

No, I'm using the default one. I checked flash.xml.in and ran

Coworker and I figured it out. meta-mender-community has no support for R32.5.0. :(

Right. We have some bbappends and such in the demo distro to compensate for that, on the R32.5.x-based branches.
