When I thought of it, it might be problematic to throw the results away (e.g. some other may depend on them), but we rather need to forbid their distribution.

Seconded. Even better if distribution can be still allowed to certain IP ranges (e.g. company LAN), and this IP filtering would still work through nginx proxy_pass.
