xDrip no longer showing in notification panel after Android 15

xDrip version: Nightly build 11th Oct 2024
Device: Pixel 7 Pro

Updated to Android 15, xDrip is no longer showing up in the notification panel. The notifcation widget is being auto dismissed and can be viewed in the notification history.

I have made sure all permissions and notifications are enabled. I have also reinstalled the application. Not sure if something from Android 15 is auto dismissing the xdrip notification.

no xDrip icon. Just AAPS. BYODA also shows up.

Settings > Less common settings > Other misc options > Run collector in foreground

Just adding that I'm having the same issue. Not sure exactly when it started, but I am still on Android 14 on a pixel 6 pro. Run collector in foreground is checked.

I'm using Android 6a and I am running Android 15 on it. There was never a change in the xDrip notifications neither on Android 14, nor on Android 15.

I have updated...Done a clean install. Still have problems with xdrip showing in the notification panel.

It is for me. I ran the test as well no crash as it warms might happen. But also, no number in the notification bar.

Have you tried safe mode as it suggests?

Yes, "Run Collector in Foreground" is enabled.

I did try booting in safemode, and the notification still did NOT display. But isn't that to be expected? My understanding of android safemode is that it disables all third party apps, including Xdrip. So I cannot even open the app if I wanted to. So I wouldn't expect the notification to work in that mode.

Restore your phone to factory settings.
Install xDrip only. Does it show the notification?

If yes, install your other apps one at a time. After you install every app, check to see if the xDrip notifications show without being dismissed until you find the app that is causing the problem.

I have a related, but slightly different issue with bg values not actually showing in the notification bar or lock screen (just the icon), even though I can validate they have been read recently from the source (Libre 3 Web Follower). Essentially, I see the xDrip "drop" icon 🩸 constantly in the notification area instead, but if I swipe down to look at the detailed notification UI, I do see read bg values for both followers with trends and their graphs 📉 (I'm using variant1 w/ normal xDrip installed as well). Its essentially acting like it hasn't read a valid bg value in a while, and not showing anything but the icon. I've run the notification test multiple times without any issues. I've restarted my phone multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled and then imported settings from another phone that seems to work. It does seem to start working for a while, but then revert back to the above again randomly, and both of the flavors of xDrip seem to either work or not together 🤔

I'm running a Pixel 8 Pro with Android 14 installed with both the vanilla and variant 1 flavors of the latest release of xDrip (dfcbe80-2024.09.17).

I think the new Use xDrip Cloud option outlined here in the docs was likely my issue outlined above. I was seeing a number of "sync" issues on my following device that would start intermittently and then completely stop working after about 24 hours. It seems like turning on this new option on both the master and following devices as mentioned in the docs has likely (hopefully 🤞 ) resolved my issue.
