using xDrip to capture data from a research transmitter

Hi all, I've got a prototype transmitter (rechargable) that fits into the profile of a Dexcom G6 sensor frame. I wish to capture the data sent from this device with xDrip. One way to accomplish this would be to emulate the data format of perhaps a G4 or G5 transmitter. Alternatively, an experimental version of xDrip app could be used. Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
