Can we build a toy piece of python, bind it to, C, and print the arguments out on the c-side, so we can all understand what, e.g. shape and chunk_selection look like when they get passed through. Ideally we'd do that for all the arguments of reduce_chunk.

(This is most easily done by a short chat with Neil)
