During the CCPP Visioning Workshop we identified some requirements for the CCPP to support scales beyond NWP. However, those requirements seem to gall on the physics or the core. It appears the Framework has all it needs for longer scales.

The parameterizations in the ccpp-physics library have been targeted for NOAA’s UWM applications, which cover a range of spatio-temporal scales associated with NWP.
However, ccpp-physics doesn’t have everything…
There are other applications that are not currently included in the CCPP:
Atmospheric physics for space weather prediction.
Urban modeling.
Climate diagnostics to meet CMIP requirements.
Others?
Is there anything special needed for expanding the supported scales (e.g. in the framework)?
