I was trying to run the tutorials from AGU workshop & 2021 Hackathon using mybinder.org yesterday.

This lead me to the corn repo which I think I was able to use on mybinder with these modifications. Could send as PR -- would that be of interest to you?

Integration with Binder would be great indeed, even though the direct access examples won't run but the rest will.

@gaelforget Sorry for dropping the ball on this one, I think we'll have the environment running in Binder very soon (next week). This makes it convenient to use with just one click but Binderhub usually provisions to Google cloud and direct access to S3 for NASA buckets won't work. There is a library we're developing to workaround some of these issues and abstract the IO for data files https://github.com/nsidc/earthdata. we'll be working on updating our notebooks so they run the same way in the cloud or on our local machines.

In the meantime you can test this beta Docker image for Binder: https://mybinder.org/v2/gh/NASA-Openscapes/corn/binder

Thanks @betolink for the follow up and pointers. The earthdata APIs look really useful.
