I want to propose to discuss porting this to an AlekSIS app some time in the future. The AlekSIS project has a feature request for an inventory app, and probably this can be generalised, and maybe tinventory itself could benefit from the AlekSIS ecosystem as well.

Just posting this here so someone can keep an eye on the idea ;).
