Word this out better, and add to a troubleshooting page.


When people face issues in games, the demo of the game should be tried, so it becomes easier for other people to just go and try it.

Though... demos aren't installable from the Steam Deck UI (???!??).

The Demo ID can be found on the store page, in the URL of the Download Demo prompt:

javascript:ShowGotSteamModal( 'steam://install/479030', "DOOM Demo", "Download Demo" )

Or, this failing, the ID can be found on SteamDB

To install, assuming programs.steam.enable, you can run steam "steam://install/479030" and this will install the DOOM (2016) demo.
