makerbridge is very finnicky/doesn't work

been testing makerbridge on my koikatsu install, but it seems to be very finnicky, rarely working as it should (sending the card that is open in studio to the maker).
best i can get, when pressing the key for the plugin, is [Warning:Modding API] Tried to save card before it was loaded - (Card Name) and nothing else happening. it's quite rare that it does the bridgeing.
