When using the blend shapes function in HS2PE, most sliders for the mouth, teeth and tongue do not seem to work. Any other sliders for eyes etc. seemingly work just fine. I've found a few posts scattered about where people describe the same issue, but I've yet to find any solution to it.

I'm thinking I've probably overlooked something obvious here but I'm starting to think I'll have to manually remove mods that could be conflicting with HS2PE to try and find the cause of this.

I believe these sliders only work with some of the expressions.

I'm not sure I understand. Shouldn't I be able to change the mouth just like eyes for example? I remember it working a few months back but I am now unable to properly use the function since the mouth barely changes (if at all), even though the values do.

As seen here, the only working ones are no.39 and no.41, all others have no effect.
I apologize if I've fundamentally misunderstood something.

Likely caused by a file conflict. When using BetterRepack, I was able to restore functionality by deleting my BepInEx folder and replacing it with the backup from R13. Pretty sure it's a conflict with something added in R14.

@Fadbeet132 Can you pinpoint what exactly is causing the issue?

Still investigating, I'll look into it this weekend.

So I ran the upgrade package for R14 again over my existing install, and blend shapes are still working. Not sure what causes it, but this worked for me:

  • Run Update from r13 to r14
  • Delete BepinEx folder
  • replace BepInEx folder with the backup of R13
  • Run update r13 to r14 package again

During the upgrade last time I also installed LoveMachine, not sure if that had any effect on the hooks used for BlendShapes. It would make sense though, LM may use blend shapes to detect current animation states.

Can you try installing LoveMachine now that the bug is gone? You can get it here.

Reinstalled LoveMachine, bug has not come back.
