Metadata fields are currently appended haphazardly after the message text. It would be nice if these extra chunks could be aligned when possible in subsequent messages.

One potential solution might be tabstop-style alignment, where the the renderer selects a few columns and attempts to align chunks to them, allowing overflow as necessary.
