Adding the license information will help identify:

Where licensing is missing
Where inappropriate licensing is being used (e.g. not public domain)
If use is associated with license type

License info per repo can quickly be added via:

https://developer.github.com/v3/licenses/#get-the-contents-of-a-repositorys-license
