H. GEOS IT
This lists tags, relevant experiments and other related to GEOS-IT.
- To run GEOS-IT please edit - with caution -
geos_it.input
and userunjob
to setup experiment. The goes_it.input file can be found under GEOSadas/src/Applications/GEOSdas_App/testsuites
In doing so, the following can be fussed with, but nothing else:
a. Experiment name: you can change this name globally in the input file, and if you do so, you much change the file name itself with a corresponding name, e.g., myexp.input
b. Remote account to intranet: an answer can be give to the alternative default dao_ops@train
c. FVHOME> You can replace the default path to the experiment home directory to whatever is appropriate
d. FVICS: You should provide the name of a tar-ball holding the initial conditions for the run. The tar balll should be placed in an arbitrary location that ultimately ends in, /somelocation/XXXX/rs/Yyyyy/Mmm/somename.rst.yyyymmdd_hhz.nc4 -- where yyyy mm hh dd and hh are actual filled in date/time.
e. Job nickname: you can put and reasonable name for what will become the job main script (the *.j file)
f. Select group: Fill in answer as appropriate.
-
When editing the input file, leave all defaults as they are.
-
Before running the runjob script with your newly edited file remember to tell the setup where you will be archiving the data if not in the actual discover main archive system, that is, do:
setenv ARCHIVE /my/special/location/archive
the experiment will be stored in the location above under $ARCHIVE/expid - where expid is the user experiment name.
You should not need to change anything else.
-
To run runjob simply do: /full/path/GEOSadas/install/bin/runjob -l ./yourexpid.input assuming the file is in the local directory.
-
Recall that, after the run has been setup (step 4 above), the user should edit the following files:
5a. main job script
5b. run/gaas/ana_aod.j.tmpl
5c. run/monthly_plots/plot/gcm_plot.tmpl
and adjust the batch queue priority settings, e.g., specifying partition and qos.
