Can't import history as google doesn't offer JSON

Trying to import history from youtube requires the data to be in json format, but for some reason that's no longer possible to request from google. They'll only offer watch-history.html and search-history.html in their takeout now.
Not sure if there's a reliable way to convert those into JSON, but none of the online tools I tried worked, either because the files were too big or just too convoluted.

But this makes it currently not possible, for me at least, to input history.

Are you sure about this? Could you maybe upload a clip of how you retrieved the files from Google Takeout?
