LostAndFound

Giving items to users who are not configured for a given resource type is challenging on flow. Many applications have to either not allow users to receive assets, or they have to come up with their own escrow solution.

LostAndFound is a contract meant to solve this issue so other applications do not need to. It organizes items that users can redeem based on the type of the asset. This should make it easy for apps to integrate with that they can own allowing users to claim their items in the LostAndFound.

Structure

This contract is organized into a few key components:

Shelf

A shelf is our high-level organizer. There is one shelf per redeemable address.

A shelf has an array of Bins (covered later), and an associated address. Only that address can claim items on that shelf. There is only one shelf allowed per address

Bin

Bins exist on Shelf Resources. A bin consists of an array of Tickets (covered later) and an associated type. All Items deposited to a shelf are routed to their type's bin. For instance, if I send an account USDC tokens, a bin corresponding to the USDC vault (FiatToken.Vault) would be made, and all subsequent deposits of FiatToken.Vault types would be routed to that same bin.

If a bin is emptied of all its Tickets, it can be destroyed and a new one would be made once that type is deposited again.

Ticket

Tickets are the resource that contain our deposited items to be redeemed by other accounts. A ticket has an item which represents the resource being deposited, a redeemer address, and a memo in case the depositor would like to send a message to the redeemer

ShelfManager

The ShelfManager is a light wrapper around our stored shelves. It exposes a means to borrow shelves so that redeemers can withdraw items that have been sent to them, and another helper to deposit items to a redeemer.

Usage

NFTs

Deposit an item

import "ExampleNFT"
import "NonFungibleToken"

import "LostAndFound"

transaction(recipient: Address) {
    // local variable for storing the minter reference
    let minter: &ExampleNFT.NFTMinter

    prepare(acct: AuthAccount) {
        // borrow a reference to the NFTMinter resource in storage
        self.minter = acct.borrow<&ExampleNFT.NFTMinter>(from: /storage/exampleNFTMinter)
            ?? panic("Could not borrow a reference to the NFT minter")
    }

    execute {
        let token <- self.minter.mintAndReturnNFT(name: "testname", description: "descr", thumbnail: "image.html", royalties: [])
        let display = token.resolveView(Type<MetadataViews.Display>()) as! MetadataViews.Display?
        let memo = "test memo"
        let depositEstimate <- LostAndFound.estimateDeposit(redeemer: recipient, item: <-token, memo: memo, display: display)
        let storageFee <- self.flowProvider.borrow()!.withdraw(amount: depositEstimate.storageFee)
        let resource <- depositEstimate.withdraw()

        LostAndFound.deposit(
            redeemer: recipient,
            item: <-resource,
            memo: memo,
            display: display,
            storagePayment: &storageFee as &FungibleToken.Vault,
            flowTokenRepayment: self.flowReceiver
        )

        // Return any remaining storage fees in this vault to the configured
        // flow receiver
        self.flowReceiver.deposit(from: <-storageFee)
        destroy depositEstimate
    }
}

Redeem them all

Fungible Tokens

Deposit a vault

        let mintedVault <- minter.mintTokens(amount: amount)
        let memo = "test memo"
        let depositEstimate <- LostAndFound.estimateDeposit(redeemer: redeemer, item: <-mintedVault, memo: memo, display: nil)

            storagePayment: &storageFee as &FungibleToken.Vault,
            flowTokenRepayment: self.flowReceiver
        )

        // Return any remaining storage fees in this vault to the configured
        // flow receiver
        self.flowReceiver.deposit(from: <-storageFee)
        destroy depositEstimate
        destroy minter
    }
}

Redeem them

    }
}

Depositor

For contracts that are going to deposit things often and don't want to send flow tokens each time, or for consumers who are not permitted to access flow tokens in this way, you can also use the LostAndFound Depositor to maintain a pool of tokens and deposit through it.

When creating the depositor, there is an optional second argument for lowBalanceThreshold. The depositor will check the balance against this value and emit an event when the balance is less than this value.

Initialize the depositor

import "LostAndFound"
import "FungibleToken"
import "FlowToken"

transaction {
    prepare(acct: AuthAccount) {
        if acct.borrow<&LostAndFound.Depositor>(from: LostAndFound.DepositorStoragePath) == nil {
            let flowTokenRepayment = acct.getCapability<&FlowToken.Vault{FungibleToken.Receiver}>(/public/flowTokenReceiver)
            let depositor <- LostAndFound.createDepositor(flowTokenRepayment, lowBalanceThreshold: 10.0)
            acct.save(<-depositor, to: LostAndFound.DepositorStoragePath)
            acct.link<&LostAndFound.Depositor{LostAndFound.DepositorPublic}>(LostAndFound.DepositorPublicPath, target: LostAndFound.DepositorStoragePath)
        }
    }
}

Add Flow tokens to the Depositor

import "LostAndFound"
import "FungibleToken"
import "FlowToken"

transaction(amount: UFix64) {
    prepare(acct: AuthAccount) {
        let flowVault = acct.borrow<&FlowToken.Vault>(from: /storage/flowTokenVault)!
        let tokens <- flowVault.withdraw(amount: amount)
        let vault <-tokens as! @FlowToken.Vault

        let depositor = acct.borrow<&LostAndFound.Depositor>(from: LostAndFound.DepositorStoragePath)!
        depositor.addFlowTokens(vault: <- vault)
    }
}

Deposit through the Depositor

import "FlowToken"
import "FungibleToken"
import "ExampleNFT"
import "NonFungibleToken"
import "MetadataViews"

import "LostAndFound"

transaction(recipient: Address) {
    // local variable for storing the minter reference
    let minter: &ExampleNFT.NFTMinter
    let depositor: &LostAndFound.Depositor

    prepare(acct: AuthAccount) {
        // borrow a reference to the NFTMinter resource in storage
        self.minter = acct.borrow<&ExampleNFT.NFTMinter>(from: /storage/exampleNFTMinter)
            ?? panic("Could not borrow a reference to the NFT minter")
        self.depositor = acct.borrow<&LostAndFound.Depositor>(from: LostAndFound.DepositorStoragePath)!

        let flowTokenProviderPath = /private/flowTokenLostAndFoundProviderPath

        if !acct.getCapability<&FlowToken.Vault{FungibleToken.Provider}>(flowTokenProviderPath).check() {
            acct.unlink(flowTokenProviderPath)
            acct.link<&FlowToken.Vault{FungibleToken.Provider}>(
                flowTokenProviderPath,
                target: /storage/flowTokenVault
            )
        }
    }

    execute {
        let token <- self.minter.mintAndReturnNFT(name: "testname", description: "descr", thumbnail: "image.html", royalties: [])
        let display = token.resolveView(Type<MetadataViews.Display>()) as! MetadataViews.Display?
        let memo = "test memo"

        self.depositor.deposit(
            redeemer: recipient,
            item: <-token,
            memo: memo,
            display: display
        )
    }
}

Discovery

LostAndFound has a few helper functions to make it easier for you to discover what items an address has to redeem

Get all types deposited to an address

import "LostAndFound"

pub fun main(addr: Address): [Type] {
    let shelfManager = LostAndFound.borrowShelfManager()
    let shelf = shelfManager.borrowShelf(redeemer: addr)
    if shelf == nil {
        return []
    }

    return shelf!.getRedeemableTypes()
}

Borrow all tickets of all types

import "LostAndFound"

pub fun main(addr: Address): [&LostAndFound.Ticket] {
    return LostAndFound.borrowAllTickets(addr: addr)
}

Borrow all tickets of a type

import "LostAndFound"
import "ExampleNFT"

pub fun main(addr: Address): [&LostAndFound.Ticket] {
    return LostAndFound.borrowAllTicketsByType(addr: addr, type: Type<@ExampleNFT.NFT>())
}
