Support for changelog generation

I wonder if automating changelog update is a reasonable use case to be considered as part of a modern project template. There are tools around and I think it is just about a few hooks ?

Thanks @dornech, that's a good point and I already thought about it. So far I still haven't found the one, go-to, tool for this, which is widely accepted in the community. Do you have a suggestion? and where is used so far?

I want to keep this template low-maintenance for me, so I would only introduce best-practices that are common and accepted in a way. So providing 2-4 different approaches for changelog automation and letting the user decide, would be out-of-scope.
