The library we use to "encrypt" the instance password has 2 major releases with breaking changes. We're unable to upgrade to latest version because of that.

Proposal:

  • In next major release update the dependency to latest version (as current has vulnerabilities) or search for an alternative to store the passwords.
  • Make sure to warn the user if they have to re-configure the password each instance with old format password.
