Publication statistics (e.g,. total data size for uploads) would be useful to help inform the E3SM Leadership Team with project planning.

We should figure out if ESGF collects upload statistics based on time. Alternatively, we might try using the ESGF Search API and aggregating the total data size with some query based on time periods.
