which is not really that "fun" for normal deployments...

Hmm, I'm unable to reproduce this. I tried starting UIB, looked at the timestamp of the files in data/ldap folder, stopped UIB and started UIB again. The timestamps indicate that the files are not deleted on restart.

a) start UIB
b) add some users, and delete some of the default users
c) restart UIB
d) verify that the users after b) is still in UIB/LDAP
