Just a comment to give you an idea: I'm running this soc on a Zyxel NAS 540 with a 3.2.0.6 kernel. I also have sudden hangs but only as long as cpu frequency scaling is enabled. So disabling frequency scaling may also help you...

That would make sense since the generic DT-based cpufreq driver I use in my 5.x port does the same thing as the "c2k-cpufreq" 3.2.x driver (it changes the CPU clock divider).
