@hammy4815 Hello, with your help, I tried to test the ladder structure. The specific structure is shown in the following figure.

Then, a violation of the laws of physics was found when propagating the mode field. The normal situation should be that the energy on the left side is higher than that on the right side, but the opposite is true here. This kind of problem will occur no matter whether TE or TM modes are propagated. I think this may be a serious BUG, so I want to report it to you and get help from you to solve this problem.
