When listing possible words, sort them by some criteria. Possible metrics:

  • Number of new letters used
  • Relative frequency of each of those new letters (within the current possible bank of filtered words)

The more generalized metric is the amount of expected other words eliminated by using that word. Suggested metrics are good proxies.
