Shouldn't a mash instancer be exported as "instanceable"? #3308
-
When exporting a mash instancer to USD (file>export selected) it creates a USD file with the following hierarchy: pointInstancer I would expect the geo to be tagged as "instanceable" in the metadata. I can of course select this in the AE. But am wondering if there is a reason that this is not happening by default on export. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I believe that this would mean that the USD instances are not working properly if they are not "instanceable" is that correct? At least, looking at the Disney Mohana Island USD the geo is tagged as "instanceable." |

Answering myself here, from what I'm reading in the USD Survival Guide, my above assumption appears to be incorrect:
If I'm understanding correctly that would mean that the exported mash instance is explicit and therefore does not need the metadata tag. |
