I believe I found the issue. It was in my setup.
Since I am not working at the office, I was connecting from a Linux machine (local) to a Linux workstation (remote) using
freerdp
, which apparently creates a virtual desktop, therefore not using the remote GPU. This causes Maya to not use the OpenGL libraries from the GPU (newer version) but instead use the CentOS 7 mesa ones (older version). Not only the VP2 and other issues (color management, etc) were happening but also the USD Crate (binary) format was causing Maya to crash.We (office and myself) switched to
