Nobody should need to edit the script directly to control its behavior. That's what config files are meant for.

  • The script should read options from a standard location (/etc/syncrepo.conf?)
  • The script should then fill in any missing options with defaults
  • The script should support generating a default config from internal state
  • A fully annotated config (with defaults) should be shipped with the script
